Heat-Transfer Sublimation Technology for Facade Profiles
Pak Alumex integrates advanced heat-transfer sublimation with architectural-grade powder coating, allowing civil engineers, facade contractors, and project developers to achieve warm timber visuals with structural metal strength.
How Our Wood Grain Transfer Process Works
The manufacturing sequence begins with an architectural polyester powder base coat (60–80 microns) applied electrostatically over chromate-free pre-treated 6063-T5 or T6 aluminium extrusions. After curing, a special wood grain film is wrapped tightly around the profile using a high-vacuum suction process.
The wrapped profile enters a sublimation oven at 190°C–200°C. Under controlled thermal conditions, organic pigments transition directly from solid to gas, penetrating deep into the powder coating layer rather than staying on the surface. This creates an integral, wear-resistant finish that replicates authentic wood grain patterns.
Key Advantages Over Natural Timber
- ✓ Fire Safety & Non-Combustibility: Class A fire rating compliant, suitable for high-rise facades and public building regulations.
- ✓ Zero Moisture Absorption: Will not swell, warp, split, rot, or attract termites in high-humidity or coastal environments.
- ✓ UV & Weather Stability: Formulated with outdoor-durable pigments tested against chalking, peeling, and color fading under severe sunlight.
- ✓ Low Maintenance Lifecycle: Requires no seasonal sanding, varnishing, or repainting; easily cleaned with standard water washes.
